Installation

We size the pipe for the appliances it has to feed and the length of the run, install it, and test it before anything is connected.

Repair

Repairs range from a leaking flare fitting behind a dryer to a corroded section of old steel pipe under the house or a damaged line in the yard. Flexible appliance connectors wear out and get kinked when appliances are pushed back too far, so we replace them rather than trust an old one.

Pipe Materials We Work With

Most older houses in the area were piped with black steel, threaded together fitting by fitting. It lasts a long time indoors, but sections that run through damp crawl spaces or sit buried without proper coating can corrode. Newer work often uses corrugated stainless steel tubing, the flexible yellow-jacketed pipe, which snakes through walls and attics with fewer joints. It has to be installed and bonded to the electrical grounding system the way the manufacturer and code require, and we check that bonding whenever we find it in a house. Buried yard lines are typically run in approved plastic gas pipe with a tracer wire so the line can be found again later. Who Owns What
