Why the Connection Matters More Than the Appliance

Appliance leaks often start outside the appliance. A cheap connector, a saddle valve clamped onto a pipe, or a dishwasher drain hose with no high loop, which lets dirty sink water siphon back into the machine: none of those show until there’s damage under the floor or behind the fridge.

So a proper installation looks past the box. On a dishwasher, the drain needs an air gap or a high loop and a secure connection at the sink tailpiece or disposal. A refrigerator line needs a real shutoff valve you can reach, not a saddle valve. A hot water dispenser needs the right supply and, usually, an outlet under the sink. We check each of those as part of the install.

Replacing an Appliance in the Same Spot

Swapping a dishwasher or refrigerator where one already stood is the most common version of this job. Even so, the old supply line and shutoff tend to be as old as the appliance, and a new machine on an old valve is a leak waiting for a reason. We fit a new connector, and a new valve if the old one doesn’t close cleanly.

If the store that sold you the appliance includes basic installation, we can take care of the plumbing part they won’t, such as adding a proper shutoff or moving a line that sits where the new machine needs to go.

New Locations and Kitchen Remodels

Moving a dishwasher to the other side of the kitchen, or adding a refrigerator with an ice maker to an island, means new supply and drain runs. That’s plumbing work in the wall or floor, and it’s far easier while the cabinets are out. Tell us what’s going where before the cabinet order is final. A few inches either way decides whether a drain can reach, and it’s much cheaper to move a sketch than a finished run.

Our Install Checklist

Every appliance hookup ends the same way. We flush the supply before connecting so loose scale doesn’t lodge in a new inlet valve, tighten and dry-check every fitting, run the appliance through a fill and drain, and look again with the water on. The shutoff gets tested open and closed, and you’ll see where it is. If the appliance maker asks for a specific connector or hose, that’s what goes on.
